Bilingual Child Advocate

JOB SUMMARY:

• The Child Advocate has an important role at Center for Hope's Children's Advocacy Center (CAC), in providing assistance, support, and nurturance of children and youth visiting the center.
• This person will utilize a child-friendly, trauma-informed and trauma-responsive lens in their approach.
• The Child Advocate strives to provide an optimal environment to assist youth by promoting effective coping and healthy development through education, play, mindfulness practices, and therapeutic activities

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Basic professional knowledge; equivalent to a Bachelor's degree; working knowledge of theory and practice within a specialized field in Early/Elementary Education, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology etc
• Bilingual in English and Spanish required
• 1 to 3 years of related experience including trauma work experience
• Understanding of cultural humility and anti-racism framework
• Mon-Fri: 3 days 9am-5:30pm, 2 days 10:30am-7pm. No on-call required.
