System Chief of Radiology Services Opportunity for Leading Health System in Maryland

LifeBridge Health (LBH) is a regional health care organization based in Baltimore City, Baltimore County and Carroll County, MD. LBH is seeking a System Chief of Radiology Services to provide strategic direction and leadership of the Department of Radiology at Sinai Hospital, Grace Medical Center, Northwest Hospital, Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital, and Carroll Hospital Center along with providing support to multiple service line endeavors across the LifeBridge Health Medical Group.

As the largest, most comprehensive, provider of health-related services to the people of the Greater Baltimore region, the system is currently licensed for just over 1,000 beds and earns approximately $2 billion in annual revenues. There are an estimated 2,900 physicians on the medical staff and over 13,000 employees.

Sinai, Northwest, and Carroll Hospitals all hold Stroke Center Accreditations with Sinai leading this distinguished Thrombectomy-capable certification. In addition, the state-of-the art Trauma Center at Sinai Hospital is one of just four Level II trauma centers in Maryland and a national leader in the care of trauma patients. LBH is renowned for its full spectrum of care, including Heart and Vascular, Brain and Spine, Eye, Cancer Care, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, and Women’s Health. The Imaging service line maintains premier Neuro and Interventional Radiology Programs, advanced integration and optimization with PACS-EMR, along with a robust AI portfolio. The Department has approximately ten on-site Radiology providers, which include PA/NP and RRA providers. Additionally, the Department has approximately eight employed teleradiologists with continued growth opportunity. The Department of Radiology provides support for a competitive Residency program. There is long-standing collaboration with both Johns Hopkins and University of Maryland Shock Trauma, and a brand-new affiliation with the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences with the creation of a regional medical campus.

Reporting to the Chief Physician Executive of LBH, and the Chief Medical Officers at each hospital, this position will:

  • Provide leadership and administration for all components of the Department of Radiology Services across all three hospitals.
  • Promote purposeful collaboration, A.L.A.R.A. and outcomes-focused care, and an environment of accountability and teamwork both within the Department and between/among other Departments in all aspects of academic and clinical functions.
  • Serve as a role model and advocate of the cultural values of the department and Health System.
  • Act collaboratively to ensure decisions that provide the greatest and safest benefits to the populations served and overall organization.
  • Foster continuous improvement of quality of care, outcomes, safety, and best evidence-based medicine practice across the continuum of care, while safeguarding operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and accreditation requirements, to include those of the Joint Commission, CMS, DHMH, and Maryland Health Care Statues.
  • Have knowledge of current health care trends and initiatives as they apply to service offerings and function as a visible medical leader between Administration, Hospital Staff, and the Department members.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Medical Degree M.D. or D.O.
  • Master’s degree in healthcare management or business (preferred)
  • Board Certified Radiologist by the American Board of Radiology (ABR)
  • Additional subspecialty fellowship training a plus
  • At least 5 -7 years of leadership experience in clinical operations, ideally gained with a large health system, as well as a career trajectory with increasing levels of administrative responsibilities.
  • Previous chair experience preferred, but emerging leader with appropriate experience will be considered.
  • A demonstrated commitment to supporting the growth, development, mentorship, and well-being of faculty, clinicians, and students.
  • Experience with cultivating an environment of diversity, quality, teamwork, and continued growth and improvement.
  • Experience contributing to the community in which you serve.
  • Experience with the operational and fiscal management of administering a department, including prior responsibilities for budget management, strategic planning, and resource management.
  • Strategic planning and policy development experience (preferred)
